Workers' Representation Efforts at AT&T Broadband Spread

Campaigns Set in Massachusetts, Texas and Georgia

In Natick, Mauldin, Chelmsford, Fairhaven, and on Cape Cod, AT&T Broadband workers are working towards union representation. Currently there are more than 300 workers in Massachusetts who are seeking union elections using the Neutrality Consent Elections provisions of the CWA-AT&T contract.

The Field Operations Techs and the Headend Techs in Needham have already voted for the CWA. The American Arbitration Association has certified a Technical unit of 91 workers in Natick and they will have their election on February 26.

In Chelmsford and Mauldin, the workers seeking representation are BSPs (Broadband Sales Professionals). These workers have built a strong inside committee and are eager to get to an election.

Here’s an update on campaigns in other areas:

In the Dallas suburb of Farmers’ Branch, 60 Telephone Techs have given notice that they have begun a campaign. There are 3 other units in the Dallas area that have already voted for an won union representation. The technical unit in Arlington and the Dispatch unit in Dallas already have a contract and the CSSR unit in Dallas has just begun bargaining.

In suburban Atlanta, we have given notice of a campaign for 60 techs at the North Cobb center and are talking to workers at several others locations in the area. The 225 workers at Stone Mountain have already voted in the union and are in the middle of contract negotiations.
