Adelphia Outside Direct Sales Reps Choose CWA
On November 27th, the 25 Adelphia Outside Sales Reps in Cheektowaga New York, voted 18-7 for union representation. The sales reps had been talking to CWA for months while they continued to raise their issues with management. Using the Adelphia Open Door Policy, the outside sales force expressed their concerns about commissions, fair treatment and the way in which sales territories were assigned. Finding that the Adelphia supervisors were unwilling to give them a voice in the workplace, they filed for a representation election and won. CWA Local 1122 will now assist the workers as they prepare for contract negotiations. CWA represents Adelphia employees at 11 other Adelphia facilities.
