Elections Set for 340 Adelphia Workers in FL, OH & VT
During September 2002, 340 Adelphia workers in Florida, Ohio, and Vermont will be voting for CWA representation in elections they petitioned the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) to conduct.
The cable workers want collective bargaining rights because they say they are subject to arbitrary policies, cutbacks in pay and benefits, and have no input regarding their jobs or workplace.
The first election, Sept. 5-6, will cover 300 customer sales and service reps at a call center in West Palm Beach, FL.
The second election, Sept. 10, covers 22 production workers in Cleveland.
The third election, on Sept. 20, covers 17 Adelphia technicians in Rutland, VT. A majority of the cable workers at each location supported the petitioned for an election.
